The alleged robbery occurred Monday, Feb. 18 in the area of Bridgeport Avenue and Loomis Street in Milford. The victim was the delivery person from a local restaurant.
Police say a man approached the victim and pointed a gun at the victim's neck before taking the victim’s cash and iPhone.
After investigating the incident, Milford Police carried out a search warrant at a residence on Bridgeport Avenue on Wednesday, March 13.
During the search, 27-year-old Maurice Johnson of Bridgeport allegedly attempted to jump out of a second story window but was apprehended.
Officers discovered evidence of the February robbery in Johnson’s home, including:
- A ski mask
- Clothing
- A 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a 30-round extended magazine
- The stolen iPhone
Johnson was arrested and charged with the following:
- First-degree robbery Second-degree larceny
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Interfering/resisting arrest
- Tampering with evidence
Johnson is being held on $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Milford Court on Thursday, March 14.
